I use 2 scripts to do this on server, minute.sh and timelapse.sh. As the name would suggest minute.sh runs via cron every miute and puts the image files in the right places with the right names.

Then once a day cron calls timelapse.sh which uses ffmpeg to make the movie from the sequential files.

I have put the scripts on my server for you to have a look at if you wish
